The brief
Northern Tec completed this smart EV charger installation for a homeowner in Poulton-le-Fylde who wanted to make the most of lower-cost overnight electricity.
The brief was straightforward: a charger they could control from their phone, scheduled around the off-peak window on their chosen EV electricity tariff.
Why we chose an Ohme charger

Through the Ohme app the customer sets the charge level they want and the time they need to leave. The charger then schedules charging inside the cheaper periods available on their tariff, so the car is ready when they are.
Installation and configuration
Our team assessed the existing consumer unit, the incoming supply and the proposed charger position before starting work.
The charge point was supplied from its own dedicated circuit with the required electrical protection, and the cable was routed neatly to the chosen wall position to keep the installation tidy and unobtrusive.
With electrical testing complete, our electrician helped the customer connect the unit to the Ohme app, select their vehicle and set their charging preferences before leaving site.
The result
The homeowner can now charge conveniently at home with far more control over when charging happens, and their overnight electricity rate does the rest.
